Perhaps not the correct spot but here goes.

Fs9 sets all new scenery at the top of the lists, or in other words making the new scenery level 1. What you sometime have to do is to move it to the bottom by renumbering it. What I usually do when I know the scenery I am about to add needs to be last is to enter it manually in the scenery cfg file. [glow=yellow,2,300]But only do this if you are comfortable[/glow], It is easy to make a mistake here and create problems. 8-)

There is also an option within Ultimate Terrain's menu to adjust autogen that gets displaced by the new scenery. I think it really only applies to objects left over when water areas are relocated, but it's worth a try.

That sounds like asking for trouble. It's much easier to adjust the layer priority from within the Scenery Library. I assume that olderndirt already knows that. What he wants to know is which types of scenery should go where. I'm not qualified to answer this as I don't have the scenery he mentioned. As a general rule of thumb I never place anything below the default layers.

Ultimate Terrain has a forum so I got on that and found out a few things.

I've always understood that the library should be arranged with

top priority--------sceneries(addons)
lower priority-----landscape
                        landclass
                        mesh (like SRTM or Genesis)
lowest prority----default scenery

I think that's correct.

One thing is what is top priority top of the list of toward the bottem, For example I have FsGlobal, UT, GEX, FE. Should it go FSGLOBAL, then UT, then GEX lastly FE. So FSGLOBAL is number 1 then UT number 2 etc.....
Confussing sorry like this.

1 FSGLOBAL
2 UTerrain
3 GEX
or the opposite.

You've got me.  I've just read where UT is not entirely compatible with my Alaska Cinematic but a patch in the works.  UT is supposed to layer above meshes so, if your others are similar to UT, how you stack them is your preference as long as they're above the mesh.  Checking with the people who design the stuff often provides answers.

Actually this is really easy to do providing you stick with the correct format. Which is why I put only if you feel comfortable doing this.
This method only should be used by those that have knowledge of how the scenery cfg sets up which if you look at it is really easy  8-)

Got a conversation going with Ultimate Terrain people and it appears there may be a bit of personal screw-up involved here - hard to believe

I use UT myself and what I did was to look at the scenery cfg file before I installed UT I made a copy of it in a separate folder then after I installed UT I compared it to the original file. Mind you this will differ from person to person depending upon what scenery you have installed at the time. I actually uninstalled all addon scenery and meshes first then installed UT compared the two scenery cfg files I then added my other scenery one at a time adjusting the layers as I went. I have to admit this is very time consuming and not for every one But I am quite pleased with the result. But I have to be honest there could still be some more tweaking but I am happy with what I have. 8-)

The one thing I've resolved, I think, is that photo sceneries of similar areas need to be above Ultimate Terrain.
