Just when things had been going so well. After a recent download ( Gloster Sea Gladiator Malta equipment, CFS2 P113 plus FS2004 vintage P66) leaped right into my FS aircraft list I couldn't leave well enough alone.

After reading your post I just had to take a look at this aircraft - which was originally a CFS2 - with a separate download of an update to allow it to work in FS2004.

Here is what I did -

1. Unzipped each file into a separate, temporary folder.

2. In the Sea Gladiator Malta aircraft folder I renamed the aircraft cfg file as aircraft.cfg.orig and the Sea Gladiator Malta.air files as Sea Gladiator Malta.air.orig

3. From the Update folder I Copied the new aircraft.cfg file and the new Sea Gladiator Malta.air file and Pasted them into the Sea Gladiator Malta aircraft folder - replacing the files I just renamed.

4. Note that you must also copy several files from the Texture folder and Paste them into the texture folders Faith and Hope.  This is detailed in the instructions.

5. I placed a copy of the gauge file (tbm_EXTRA-300.TURN-COORDINATOR.gau) into my default gauge file.

After doing all of that I then placed the revised Sea Gladiator Malta folder into my FS2004 aircraft folder.

All three variations - Faith, Hope and Charity - now are selectable under Gloster as the manufacturer.

She flies rather nicely for an "old bird".   :grin

I for one never unzip anything directly into my FS - I always unzip to a temporary folder.

If you follow these instructions exactly you should have no problems and only one instance of the Gloster aircraft.

Nothing want's to download from the CFS2 pages so I'll just tread water for a while.

Didn't you save what you had downloaded earlier?   :o

The switch to my brain is now back ON.  Checked the recycle bin and have the zip files back in place so I'll post my result later.  Thanks.

I just checked out the original CFS2 Malta Sea Gladiator. The Sound.cfg is aliased to the CFS2 default A6M2_Zero. You will need to fix this or it won't be listed on the FS9 selection menu - with or without the FS9 update.

Beg to differ -

It works just fine, as is, on my system - and I do not have the A6M2_Zero installed of course.  I assume it is deferring to a default sound set.

Aliasing sound to a non existant sound file should have no bearing on an aircraft displaying on the aircraft selection menu.
