Hi all,

I know i fixed this by changing some thing in fs9.cfg but can't remember where i saw it or what the fix was.. whats happening is you can see a line of sharp to blurry ground texture in the distance... i remember it being something like the amount of ground blocks that are loaded at the same time.?? any one know what I need to change to get all ground texture sharp however far away they are?

Thanks

When in doubt, check the FAQ at the top of this board. ;)

Here is NickN's FS9.cfg tweaks thread. :)

Hope that helps. 8-)

How often have to perched yourself at the top of a Cathedral and been able to spot that Sheep in a field, 50+ miles away?...;)...!

Nah...if real life, you cannot see clearly into the distance, because of all the Mist, Fog, Smoke, etc, existing in the air.

You will be very lucky is you can pick out details more than 5 miles away....even on a "clear" day!

The scenery should get "gradually" clearer as you progress, which you can experience during "real" flights....or even driving in a Motor Car!

Paul...G-BPLF...FS 2004.

My "Visibility" in the Sim "Weather Options" is generally set between 5 and 10 miles to be realistic!
Flying visibility using a "Real Weather" setting can be even less!

As a good example, Have a peek at some of the U-Tube "real" flights in the Cessna 172, etc Trainers. Often, in day-time, you cannot see the Airstrip ahead of you until you are almost over it!

Wow, 5-10 miles would make me nervous! ;D

I usually go for 20-30 miles visibility. I pretend that I live in a less polluted world that way. ;D ;)

Although you are very correct about the real world weather settings!

A number of times I have loaded into the game and not been able to see to the tips of my wings. A sure sign that it's not a good idea to take off. :o ;)

Shane... Stuck on the ground in near zero visibility! ;D ;D

Tee-Hee... ;D...!

San Francisco (KSFO), the Bay area, and Silicon Valley is generally buried in Fog and Mist most of the day....(Kron4 Video Cams)....

..and if I dial up California "Real Weather" in the Sim, most of the time I would be "Grounded" in my little VFR Cessna 150... :'(...!

Golden Gate Bridge, and Bay Bridge, is enveloped in Mist most of the day... :o...!

...and that's not to mention Foggy/Smoky Los Angeles...and KLAX!

Paul...G-BPLF...FS 2004..and Love in a Mist... 8-)...!

...just had a test...
Its a lovely Sunny day at the moment, clear blue sky. High Pressure, 70% Humidity, 15*C.
From my upstairs bedroom window I can just pick out individual Trees and Houses at a distance of 5 Miles...beyond that it gets progressively "Blurry" due to Mist, Smoke, etc, in the air.... ;)...!

Make sure the 'extended terrain textures' box in settings/scenery is checked ...
