Hi, hopefully this is a dead easy one to solve ;)

Ive just downloaded an embraer 145 which uses the default lear panel, but i cant change the nav frequencies, ive looked in the aircraft.cfg and the radios section is the same as the lear which doesnt have the problem.
Ive also looked in the .air file but to be honest, im a little lost in there ;D
any thoughts?

hmm, embarassingly i hadnt seen that topic :-[ the search function is a wonderfull thing, i should get to know it better ;)

but unfortunately, the radios section of the .cfg:

[Radios]
// Radio Type=availiable, standby frequency, has glide slope
Audio.1=1
Com.1=1, 1
Com.2=1, 1
Nav.1=1, 1, 1
Nav.2=1, 1, 0
Adf.1=1
Transponder.1=1
Marker.1=1

is how it looks in the aircraft.cfg of my embraer and still no changing frequencies:-?
or do i need to edit it in the lear as well?

The default Lear comm and nav radios do not have standby freqs.

In the Emb's aircraft.cfg, change the 'standby frequency' bit for each radio to 0 (zero)

Com.1=1, 0
Com.2=1, 0
Nav.1=1, 0, 1
Nav.2=1, 0, 0

i can see how that would work, i had it set so that the aircraft was expecting me to edit the standby frequency then click the switch and swap them over and there was no standby frequency box to change,
but it looks like i have more than one problem because i have changed all those "middle" values to zero as you wrote and still no changing :-/

but at east im learning things so thanks ;)

Did you reload the aircraft so the changes take effect?

Or....are you running Vista? It's default security does not allow edits to .cfg files inside the ..\Program Files\.. folder. One way around that is to move the .cfg file to your desktop, edit and then move it back.

The best ( and really the ONLY) way to get real help would be to tell us exactly what plane you downloaded and from where.........commoner ;)

I did reload the aircraft each time

Or....are you running Vista?

haha, i am indeed, and am quickly falling out with it :D
I discovered that even thought the aircraft.cfg files were allowing me to save the files after editing, each time i reopened them, they had reverted back to their original states :-?
One of vistas "many" excentricities ;D
Thanks alot guys ;)

Thanks for the Vista/cfg editing tip.  I'm trying to get to grips
with it too!

It's easy enough to simply (re)configure Vista so that it will "allow" you to edit/save files in the FS9 folder (and all sub-folders).

Select the FS9 folder in Windows Explorer, rightclick and set the "Properties" tab(s) to enable full access.
