Can't delete...

Postby homebrewer » Fri Sep 19, 2008 2:07 pm

Downloaded an airplane from another site. The model was crapola, so I tried to delete it from the Aircraft folder in FS9. I get a window that says Access denied. I can't get rid of it. Is there a workaround? Thanks.

Have you successfully deleted aircraft from FS9 before? Try rebooting your PC & have another go.

A couple of thoughts.

Make sure that FS is not currently using the aircraft you're trying to delete......or

Check the properties for the folder (right click on the folder) and make sure it's not 'read only'.
At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

I got it. I had to totally close out of everything, slide the offending file out of the master Aircraft folder of FS9, then blast it into the ether from the Desktop. I had it happen to me with several others yesterday. It really puts the anchors on my dancing and downloading pleasure...

As for being "read-only"-- yes, they were. The planes were just not what I wanted after installing them, so
