If I cant could anybody recommend another similar utility to download any help would be appreciated

...Easy Installer for FS 2004?... :o... :o... :o...!

It's always recommended that you place FS 2004 Aircraft, Scenery, etc, in the correct Folders manually, to avoid problems, conflicts, etc....

That's what most users do...;)...!

If I download something with an installer I always install into a temp folder then manually add them.

It's very easy to do and saves the mess that installers can sometimes cause.

All you need to do is read any instructions and all should be sweet.

I stay away from programs such as this as you can create a huge mess of your FS installation as they have bad habits of overwriting files and just messing things up. If you must use one than do as garryrussell does allways put  them in a folder outside of FS than move them manually trust me on this or take a chance on messing up your FS2004.! 8-)

Activating scenery is actually a lot easier in FS9. No need to write the path as in FS98/CFS1. My Scenery Clinic should help. http://www.simviation.com/lair/fs2004sc.htm

Assuming the new scenery is configured as shown in my tute you just need to click on the parent folder to select it. Do not open it.

To post a shot here you first need to upload it to the server. Click the Upload Images link at the top of the forum & follow the instructions. http://www.simviation.com/yabbupload.html

I found some Duxford scenery posted here. http://www.simviation.com/fs2004scenery35.htm

To install it extract the zipfile & paste the Duxford folder into your FS9\Addon Scenery folder.

Then fire up FS9 & go to Settings/Scenery Library. Click the Add Area button & navigate to your Addon Scenery folder.
Click on the Duxford folder you just pasted in there to select it. Click OK

The Duxford scenery is now activated.

Exit FS9 & restart it to complete the procedure.

Thankyou for your help Ive done what you have said and it seems to have worked I was clicking on the directory rather than just selecting it, interestingly the addon isnt listed in the addon scenery but it updates the existing duxford scenery. My computer struggles a bit with the scenery when at dense settings the screen stutters when the parked vehicles and museum exhibits come into view, however I am surprised at this,  because I am using a

Glad that worked. It's not difficult once you get the hang of it.

interestingly the addon isnt listed in the addon scenery but it updates the existing duxford scenery.

Updates to default airports will not be listed separately on the Airport selection menu if that's what you mean.

I tried it briefly in my FS9 & it does seem a bit graphics intensive. My computer is old & considerably less powerful than yours. If you wish to continue using it I can only suggest you tweak the scenery display settings accordingly.

Assuming that your computer runs the rest if the FS 2004 Sim satisfactorily, this particular "problem?" will be related to your new, highly complex, add-on scenery area.....that is always going to happen even with the best of computers...;)...!

Leave the settings to suit the rest of the Sim, and tolerate the Frame Rate drop when in the new area...;)..!

Just Flight's "Flying Club" for FS 2004 Shoreham Airfield almost grinds my computer to a standstill.....I just put up with it...!
