POSKY 737-700 range

How can i extend the range of the POSKY 737-700 BBJ,iv been told to add another fuel tank but i have'int got a clue how to do this,is it hard?Thx for any help.

Not hard at all...

Have a look at the default B737_400, aircraft.cfg file.

Find the [Fuel] section. This is where the location and capacity of fuel tanks is defined. The section is commented, defining what each of the values mean.

A good reference for editing aircraft is the FS2004 Aircraft Container SDK, available here-http://scenery.org/tutorials_fs2k4_SDK.htm.

Adding extra fuel weight may make the plane almost unflyable as it might be difficult to get it off the ground without further tweaking the aerodynamics, which then turns it into a less simple process. A more simple way of extending the range is to change the 'fuel_flow_scalar=' figure in the [GeneralEngineData] section of the aircraft.cfg. Lower figure = increased range. My 737 Experience FD is set at 0.75 here, so you could incrementally drop it to 0.65 or 0.55 (and so on), depending on the range you want.

Gets a little unrealistic then, though.

fuel flow also reduces power which will also make the plane impossible to get off the ground and you may as well be flying with more tanks.

Basically all the BBJ1 is, is a 737-700 that has strengthened landing gear (MTOW increased to 171,000 as opposed to 154,000) and 9 Auxiliary tanks (adding 3,832 gallons) in the belly of the plane.

Nothing really that different aerodynamics wise Maybe a few more antennae but thats about it.
