Starliner; Its more like Deadline right now!

Hi!, was wondering if someone can help me out?
I downloaded the prototype Lockheed L-1648A Starliner, and it seems like every time i fly a long distance the hydraulic system fails.
i dont have any system failures programmed, and its only with this aircraft. was wondering if anyone else has flown this plane and encountered this, or if its something im doing wrong.
its a great plane other than that. Its just frustrating when the system fails at the most inopportune time.....

Welcome to Simviation!
While I don't have the plane mentioned, based on my experience with other addons, some set their own failures based on how you treat the aircraft.
Many advanced addons these days circumvent the default failures module, and instead incorporate their own methods to assure that the user is operating the aircraft realistically. One example of this can be found in the Allied FS Group "NAMC YS-11" which incorporates engine overtorque and overheating features automatically, which cannot be turned off. These features can lead to engine failures in this particular aircraft, so the user is forced to fly it realistically.
Overall, just make sure you read the operations manual that hopefully came with your Starliner...

Good Luck!

well, i dont see what i am doing wrong, i dont have much real world flight experience, but as far as sim goes, i think i can hold my own. the hydraulic system holds steady at 1500PSI for almost all of the flight, (IE KLAS to KLAX) but today for instance, i was about 10 miles out and lowered my flaps when it failed. when i switched to spot view, the two main struts were already down, and the nose gear was still up. i hadnt lowered the gear yet. am i supposed to cycle the gear or something?
oh by the way to the other 27 people who looked at this and did nothing. thanks for nothing..
a big thank you to sean for at least taking the time to help me out
thanks!

Can I suggest that those who viewed your topic didn't know what to say to help you - much like myself I hasten to add. Sean obviously does!
I will say that I had a problem with loss of avionics 4 mins after take off a while ago & posted a Help Please here & eventually it came along with a suggestion about a generator switch not being on & subsequent drained batteries. I'd not knowingly turned it off but it was on a saved flight & this affected other aircraft, so I saved a flight with the generator switch firmly ON & the problem has gone away. 8-)
I hope you get it fixed!

With a line like that criticising those who read and possibly have no answers, I don't see why anyone should bother to answer your post with that sort of attitude. I take it you answer every post you read???...........How rude.
Anyway.....you most probably have as Gypsymoth says turned something off inadvertently or failed to tun something on .

im sorry about the attitude. im just frustrated by lack of response nowadays. it seems like everywhere i turn, there is just a total lack of care.
i checked everything, and there is nothing changed or set up for failure,
i also emailed the development team who posted the plane and they said they would look into it. i was just wondering if im doing something wrong in terms of cycling the hydraulic system or something.

Downloading the starliner now to see if I can duplicate the problem. Will get back to you in a while...
Before I try though, the only thing I can think of right now is to make sure you are doing the approach at the correct airspeed, with many of these aircraft, if you are too fast, the gear will not come down completely. You may still be in flap extension range though...

An update:
I'm sorry to say that I cannot reproduce the issue you're having Whiskey-Bravo. I can only say at this point that the panel seems to require a realistic startup procedure, and to make sure you are doing that precisely. There are documents in the aircraft's folder to look at to help you.
Other than that, I'm afraid that I am at a loss as to what to do...

Reinstalling does help. My Taylorcraft Auster won't slow down because the engine revs don't drop when I throttle back or off yet it's been fine for a year since I got it, & that's with text-book maintenance too ::) I'm hoping a reinstall will sort it out. Glad you're fixed up!

I don't know if this problem is related but with that particular model, L1649 Starliner Prototype, I have had flaps and landing gear failure while in the pattern. It may be due to deploying them at an unsafe airspeed. Try slowing to 200kts before lowering flaps and 150kts before dropping the gear, so far it's worked for me. Let me know if this helps.
P.S. In other words, you read this so you reply back, Right?
Just kiddin' pal
