Tolmachevo problem-s.

Postby Mooneypilot1993 » Mon Jul 07, 2008 10:16 pm

Hey guys, thanks for your help with installing my textures. Well i downloaded the airport Unnt Tolmachevo from sim v tonight, went to test it and when i loaded the airport up in the Simulator it would get to 57% then would just completely exit from the sim. Well i then decide to takeoff from an airport close to Tolmachevo and when i had gotten with in 20 miles of the airport it would exit the simulator. Im just wondering if anyone is having problems with this airport or can help me. Thanks guys  :)
Kevin.

Kevin,

I have downloaded and extracted the add-on but haven't installed or tried it out yet.

A couple of things you can look at:

*Read the 'Actigate.pdf' file installed along with 'actigate.dll' in the \Modules\ folder. The .pdf list a couple of issues.

*A 'crash to desktop' around 60%, or when flying into the area can indicate a terrain file problem, maybe a bad terrain texture file or conflicting file(s)....Do you have any other add-ons in the area? (read the 'UNNT-2008 user manual.pdf' concerning removal of previous versions).

Terrain problems can sometimes appear as seasonal. Try loading in different seasons.

I'll let you know what I find after installing the scenery.

Kevin,

I installed the scenery and had no problems, either starting at UNNT or flying in. I also tried all seasons with no problems.

I was able to 'force' a crash to desktop, with error message, by removing the files (.bmp's and .agn) added to the ..\Scenery\World\texture\ folder. The CTD occured when loading at the airport (47% but in the 'loading terrain' time span) and flying in at about 20 miles. They occured during all seasons and times except for night.

Check that the files destined for ..\Scenery\World\texture\ were installed properly (387 files added).

Dave

Nice scenery BTW.... animations are great.

Kevin,

How did you get it to work? I still can't get mine to stop crashing. Mine doesn't just CTD it restarts the computer each time.

I also had a C&R (crash & restart) at USSS, which is made by the same team.

I would be grateful for any help.

Are you receiving a "System has recovered from serious error" message? If so...

First thing, go into My Computer and DISABLE restart automatically on system failure if you have not already done so, you WANT to see that BSOD if conditions allow for it.

Now go back and try to reload the scenery, and when the computer crashes, start a new topic and post the stop error there if you get one. (We do not condone topijacking here in SimV ;))

It sounds like, to me, you might have some faulty memory in your system, but run that test just to be sure.

WILCO.

I'm sorry I didn't understand the protocol. It's my first venture onto this site.

I'm  grateful for the computer advice and I will start a new thread as you request.
