Brakes

How do I increase the braking power?

After actually flying, I've realized how bad the braking power is. In my real 172, I can hold full power and move maybe an inch forward as a lurch, but in FS9, same plane, I can't even hold 1500RPM with the default brakes.

Hi Reno.

Use AirEd to go into the .air file - section 1101 primary aerodynamics, there's a section called braking strength. For the default C172 this is set at 22000, and you can increase it up to a max of 32768, which will give you more braking headroom. Then you can fine tune with the toe_brakes= entry in the [brakes] section of the aircraft.cfg. A value of 1 will give the scalar effect specified in the .air file, and a lower value will give less effect. Don't know if a value over 1 will increase it, I haven't tried this.

Seems like all the planes in FS creep with the power up and brakes on.  I've yet to see one that holds tight.
