All systems turned off

Postby Panther91 » Thu Jul 10, 2008 11:52 am

Is it possible that all systems in the aircraft are turned off when I enter the cockpit? I searched in the Realism settings and I didn't found anything. When I enter the cockpit, either on runway or on a parking all systems are always on, even the engine. That kind of kills realism. I feel like a real pilot when I have to turn it on myself.

There's an add-on called "Cold Dark Cockpit".  I don't have it but you can find it using the Simviation "search" at the top of the forum page.

I would suggest loading up the default Cessna 172, shutting off everything that can be shut off, and then saving that flight as the default flight.
Then if everything is done correctly, all other aircraft initialize in a cold/dark state in the game.

Create or load your favorite flight and once in the cockpit turn everything off (you can also set your preferred weather). When you have everything set the way you want, save the flight. In the save window, put a check mark by 'Make this the default flight' and then save.

The settings from your 'Default flight' will be applied to any flights you create. They will not alter the settings in any of your other saved flights.

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

Or when you complete a flight, and have shut down all aircraft systems, simply save the flight. When you load the flight later, the aircraft is dark where you left it, allowing you to continue where you left off... ;)
