just out of curiosity, I can't do a decent spin worth crap in fs8, is this a flight dynamics problem or a game engine problem. have you guys in fs9 tried to spin? (i hope so! its fun in real planes!!!) just curious.

The flight dynamics engine will not allow a real decent spin.
It is possible to do one nevertheless, it mainly depends on the FDE of the plane (if it was build correctly), but the behavior of the plane in the spin will not be that realistic.

If you want to play with spins, I'd recommend you the IL-2 simulator franchise.

right, there are a few that are ok in 8 also, but i think its more of an issue that daube said. b/c really, any plane in real life will spin, tightly; not just a kinda loopey uncoordinated turn

I do absolutely agree that FS9 as a platform doesnt do very well with unusual attitudes including spins.
Have you actually tried any of the three planes I mentioned?
They dont just do a "loopy uncoordinated turn" they actually give a fairly decent representation, and the necessary recovery, of a spin.
I cant speak for FS8 but I think the first two planes I mentioned are also available for FS8
