As the titles says, Im searching for a mod or something like it, that offers a locked camera posotion behind your plane. Although I like flying in the cockpit more, I sometimes do want to enjoy the view of my plane from outside the cockpit, but the problem is, the camera moves, and it moves a lot. Everytime you make a dip, climb or turn, the camera gets out of place (no more info needed i think...).

Can this be modded or something that it stays put like let's say in a Blazing Angels flight game or Ace Combat..?

Yes.  It's called FSX.  

Seriously, FSX has that as one of the views, where the "camera view" is in a "locked spot" possition.  Also, some of the aircraft have "Camera views" that are locked in a certain possition, like you are asking about.  I've never tried tinkering with that to see if that can be done in FS9.  The locked camera "mounting" in the .cfg file, but I don't know if tinkering with the .cfg in a FS9 aircraft would do any good, since that particular view option is not available.

I'll give it a try, but if it smokes my computer, you owe me a new one!

Yeah, but then the camera would be rock solid... But I want it to budge just a littlebit, for that littlebit of extra realism (if an outside view could be seen as realistic....  ::) )

Yes there is and no it's not called FSX. Create a flight in FS2004. Once you're in your cockpit or where ever press Alt - Views - View Options - Spot plane. Uncheck Gradual Transitions. That's it.

Nope.  If it could be done, it would no doubt require tinkering with the main FS9 .cfg.  I ain't going there.

What you're seeing is the 'Gradual Transition' in Spot View. You can get a 'locked spot' view by unchecking 'Gradual Transition' in the Views>View Options>Spot View settings window. It doesn't give you any 'budge' but you can pan to any angle.

Biokat---FS9 won't accept the 'camera' settings...but that's where the Recorder Module for FS9 comes in. It provides setting and saving 'advanced' tower, spot and VC views......(where do you think they got the idea for FSX..

That does help, BUT, there is one more thing. When going up or down, the camera doesn't follow... Or well, it does follow, but it doesn't point upwards or downwards...  ;D

No need to get agitated here... I want the camera to point where the aircraft is pointing, without having to position the camera over and over again behind the airplane. So, if my plane climbs, the camera should point the same way as me airplane, so up! And down, right left vice versa...

I understand now. No, I don't think that's entirely possible. Unchecking gradual transition helps but there will always be some lag in the camera following the plane. Fastest way to position your camera behind the plane again is pressing the space bar.

Sir Crash, what he wants is a view like you would get if you took a video camera and some duct tape and some screws and physically mounted it to the aircraft.  Sort of like the camera view available for some of the FSX aircraft that have the appropiate code in the aircraft.cfg.

The utility you're looking for is the Walk & Follow module.

It's payware, but most defiantly worth it, it has two modes (predictably)
Walk; Movement around the aircraft, but viewpoint is independent to aircraft position (e.g.. You can move around the airport, and when your aircraft moves around, it will have no effect on the viewpoint)
Follow; Viewpoint is locked to the aircraft, or whatever position you set it too around the aircraft (e.g.. Position it on the wing tip, and it will remain there for the entire flight)

Unfortunately, it doesn't have any 'movement' once the view has been fixed (like in the video you showed)

With the follow mode, think of it as an actual camera fixed the fuselage, it won't move around when you turn etc.
