FS Procedures

... as we all know, FS unfortunately does not provide any SID/STAR. However, certain airports have certain predefined procedures, which one can select from when doing IFR approaches. For example, LSZH has apporaches via RILAX, EDDL via BAM, EDDF via MTR etc. ...

Does anyone know where these procedures are stored? How to modify those procedures?

Would be interesting since not all of them are correct and it makes more fun to me flying the procedures than just being vectored.

Interesting question!  If those "procedures" can be modified.... you theoretically COULD "install" a STAR.

I'll be watching this thread for the answers.

I may be wrong, but I believe that you can view/modify some procedures through the use of AFCAD.

WP,

It is sounding like the stuff is "hard coded" into the core program...... otherwise SOMEONE would likely be doing this already since fs2004 is getting "long in the tooth".

@John: actually that was my first impression, too - but here we go: I installed that fantastic freeware scenery of LSZH (Switzerland, www.http://lszh.aviation-art.ch/) which is one of the very best sceneries on the freeware market. However, I lost the procedures ...

I I only see those guys made new Scenery + Texture Files - so can it really be in the core of FS? I am not sure ...

I also doubt if AFCAD will help as it has nothing to with the actual procedure you use to land. I would allmost bet that it is hard coded and cna not be altered. WOW can you think of what you could do if it was. You could finally clear up the spacing issue of AI air craft. About the ony way I know of to come close to using SIDS and stars is to make scenery that would have them as waypoints that you could select on your flight plan. Of course I gather every one knows that some payware aircraft such as PMDG have working FMC'S that do have the sids and stars and can be used by that aircraft so maybe that is one way around the issue. So there must be a way to use this on every aircraft without putting a working FMC into them. 8-)

... but still: how comes that procedures are missing after installing new sceneries? Or how to make ATC to offer them? Hmmm ... :-/
