effects folder with texture folder inside

Folks,

Am puzzled with some downloads I have.

Part of the package involved putting 'effects' into the FS9 Effects folder.

Okay,..that part I can understand.

But what if with the downloaded airplane there is a folder called Effects....that has a number of .fxs in it and sitting right in the same folder is a folder called "texture'.

Do I copy the texture folder also into the Effects folder?

There is one there already....from a previous install of something.

The 'readme' doesn't really explain this.

I hope I'm making sense.

I can handle all other things, including adding textures/skins to airplanes.

This one has me stumped, so I come here for some advice.

Thanks,

KC

Just copy the new 'texture' folder to your Effects folder and it will simply merge with the existing 'texture' folder. You may be asked if you want to overwrite the existing folder, answer 'yes'. It will not mess with the files that already exist there.

If your uncomfortable with that, just copy the file(s) from the new texture folder to the existing one.

I personally would copy the contents of the new textures folder into the effects texture folder in the sim(chances are, you'll have most, if not all of those textures already anyway.)
