Questions about editing aircraft...

Hello all.

I've been messing around with the config files for the default Cessna 172 and have been trying to downgrade it to a 172K (150hp Lycoming O-320-E2D, lighter aircraft, etc) and my questions are this:

1. Do all fixed pitch propeller aircraft have basically the same pitch angle to the propeller?

2. Is it possible to go past the limiting RPM rating for the engine in level flight in a real aircraft?

So many other questions, so little space and time.

Thanks.

Thanks! Got the cruise/climb prop concept. Makes sense. I just didn't know if the real aircraft had a wider rpm range than the "limiting" rpm. Didn't make sense to me to rate it at 150hp @ 2700rpm and not be able to go near 2700rpm (assuming HP was less, under 2700rpm). Unless I'm confusing torque and horse power.  ::)

I have changed the weights, cylinder displacements, etc in the .cfg file. Even messed with some things in the .air file as far as efficiency/friction of the engine. Even with a prop at 16 deg pitch, the thing wouldn't stay running, nor would it come close to the speed it needed.  ;D

Thanks again!  :)
