Hi, yes I'm looking to purchase a new video card for my CPU, because basically with all the addons I've added to my FS9, my frame rates are absolutely HORRIBLE. Now, in order to help me, Im gunna need to ask you how can I tell you what I have now? like to I look on my control panel on my CPU and read you off that? like right now Im running on a Dell Dimension E510, but like I need help figuring out what I have now? please help?

Everest is a good one. (It's what I use, but that doesn't mean it's the best)

Yup, under the display heading, look at what it says under GPU.

Yeah when I click on GPU, nothing shows up, just a blank box :S

Could be that the hardware is too new to be recognized. The Everest version I told you about is an older one, but it's the best free version, IMO.

Try under "computer" then "summary".

If the computer in the link CD. posted is right, it looks like you can use a pci-x video card.

Try

Start>Run, Type in DxDiag and see what the display tab says and it something about WHQL or somthing comes up click No

Don't know if this has been brought up yet, but did you pc come with any documentation? my dell came with full specs in the back of the manual.

Sort of going off of what Robin has posted here . . .

One thing you might simply want to do is take your system down to the computer store where you plan on purchasing your video card.  They should be able to tell you what video cards are compatible with your system.  From there, it is a simple manner of buying the best card within your price range.  Of course, after you get a list of potentially available cards, feel free to run back here to get everyone's opinions (some people may have had specific experiences with the cards you will be considering).

Another thing you may really, REALLY want to consider is shelling out the money to have the video card installed for you at a computer store.  This gives you sooo many safeguards, namely around the fact that if they break it, they buy it, instead of you footing the costs for any boo-boo's during installation (warranties and the like only seem useless until you need them!).  This saved me an enormous headache years ago when the computer store broke my laptop . . . and then got to give me a brand new one (that was even better!).

Anyway, this is just my rather long-winded 2-yen.
