Nop, but it sounds like the traffic is a bit clogged at the airport, are there any planes flying in a circuit around?

No, it cant be that..Too many empty parking spaces on the airport and I cant see any airplanes going around the airport..It really seems like the AI is not responding to the tower at all..If I would post a screenshot would that help?

The problem here is more than likely the hold shorts on the runway are not placed correctly. There are several airports in FS2004 that have this problem. You can use AFCAD to check the HOLD SHORTS for the runway they are supposed to be just out side the threshhold of the runway. But what happens is the airport has a extended threshhold and the actual start of the run way is some distance away from where the taxi way meets the run way. Than the AI stops at the hold short but because is is not close enough to the actual start of the runway they will never get clearance to take off and will just vanish after awhile. You can use AFCAD to move the hold short or change the starting position of the runway. There is one airport that I completely moved the taxiway to come to the correct place on the runway. I think it is KGSO . I know this might not make much sense to you but trust me this can be the case here.
If you let me know the name of the airport I will check it out for you and let you know if this is the case. 8-)

..mmm....gary is right it will be an AFCAD thing either the hold shorts or possibly the runway links are the wrong type....best give a close up of the hold short area possible showing the HS marker.....commoner

..mm...that doesn't look like any part of the afcad the AFCAD I am using for LGAV and it does look a bit of a mess...........post the whole picture if you can please.......mine is the default fs9 ...is yours from a download or what?
I went to the airport and watched these aircraft follow each other down the runway with no trouble...not sure quite what your problem is.....the HS nodes are certainly a long way out from the runway...It sure needs changing but if you aren't happy using AFCAD then.........don't :-/

...Ok so you're happy with that now?....I got the download and it's a nice improvement on the default I must say........If you still have trouble with the AI then might I suggest you change the AFCAD to something like this............the Holds are nearer the runway and the ILS nodes just before will stop the clogging up at the Hold line well that's how I would do it)............commoner

You will find other airports with the same problem. What was done here will work I would have moved the takyway to the end of the thresh hold that way you do not have to back taxi in order to take off 8-)

...mm..well I didn't actually do the whole thing, just moved the nodes around to make it work for MC. But why not download MC's "problem" AFCAD like I did and show us how you would have done it........I've not been into AFCAD long and would appreciate that..........commoner

I will do that but in the mean time what i am saying is to move the taxi way so it is at the end of the thresh hold. Pictures to follow as soon as I can figure out how to upload them never done that before. How do i post a picture here like I said I have never done it.
