I noticed that when I open fs04, the default c172 is it's normal color: bright white. But when I choose my aircraft then select "ok", the plane shows up a darker color, and even when I fly, all of the other planes and buildings are dark too. I've played with the hardware settings, and I've had it become the normal color, but when I restart the flight, everything is dark again.

Odd, maby it is your monitor? Or is it in FS only? Then it could be a texture modification.

:D  I had the same problem until I switched on the Anti aliasing.  I have since did this in the control panel of my graphics card.
