Hi guys...& gals!

New to this forum so if I'm asking a "repeated" question, I apologize.
Anyway, does anyone know of a "Diving Plane" sound file for FS9, or any of the MSFS?  I'm looking for that sound like you always hear in a movie when a plane gets shot down.

Thanks!  :)

Do you mean a ricochet sound effect that they used to use in the old movies such as Battle of Britain?

No, no....it's that sound that you hear every time a WWII fight plane would get shot down or turn into a steep dive.  It' kind of starts out like a low, long drawn out hum that just gets louder and louder, almost like a "scream". LOL

I've always figured that typical "diving plane" sound from the movies is the sound of a plane diving with an air-driven siren- like the Junkers Ju87, aka the "Stuka". The siren was used to scare the heck out of people in the target area as they were being bombed. Very clever. ::)

LMAO!!!!!  Now we're getting somewhere!!! Next thing is (and I hate to sound STUPID...but) I wonder if you can put any of those sound file into your *sound* folders and have them work appropriately?  For instance, would that dive sound last long enough from a very high dive in comparison to a really short dive?
Btw:  I appreciate any and all input from anyone that replies to this.

Thanks!

I think the sound you mean is made by an overspeeding or runaway prop. I'm not convinced this is at all realistic. Like most things in films it's exaggerated for effect which makes real life seem rather dull.

I seem to recall a sound file for this effect included with a CFS2 Stuka. I never tried it & don't know if it would work in FS.

PS. This is the sound you mean from the same page as the Stuka. Death Dive
