:D  Is there a way I can assign a parking spot to an aircraft that I am flying.  For instance, I am going to fly to Denver in a 737-800w.  Before I load FS9 can I pick a spot in that aircraft cfg file to specifiy a gate upon arrivial.  If not, is there a way to do it.

Check out the help file in AFCAD there is a way I think. It might only work with AI aircraft I am not sure.  8-)

The AFCAD file can define where any particular airline parking codes can be associated with a parking spot. I think that if you put the appropriate parking code into your aircraft.cfg then FS will direct you to a space that matches what's in the AFCAD. So in the [fltsim.X] section you'd put:

atc_parking_types=GATE, RAMP, CARGO
atc_parking_code=BAW

BAW is the code for British Airways in this example - I guess somebody might have a list of codes?

If I remember correctly... which is always problematic these days  ;)...... you can define the specific radius of a parking space.  You can then define that same radius in the aircraft config file.  If you use some absurd number that does not fit any other aircraft...... then your aircraft gets oparked at that gate.

The thing I can't remember is if this works only for AI aircraft, and if this function is still in the current version of AFCAD.

best,

:D  Thanks John,  I set the radius in AFCAD to 200', the norm is 177.  One question, what kind of entry do I place in the aircraft config and where?

You have to make the radius setting for the aircraft using the Afcad>Tools>Aircraft Editor. It will make the necessary edit to the .mdl file (it will make a backup first).

There is no guarantee that you'll get the parking spot, as the rules for parking apply to ai aircraft
