Flying tips...

"Your Altimeter is set incorrectly, to reset your altimeter, press B"

"Your heading indicator is set incorrectly, to reset your heading indicator, press D"

Seriously, how do I get rid of these little blighters?

Go to realism settings and uncheck show flying tips. ;)

And to ensure they don't come back, what FS9.cfg code needs some deletion? ::)

Simple, go into the aircraft realism settings, and uncheck the 'Show Flying Tips' option in the upper left hand corner of the window... ;)

I've never had it come back on. (unless I've re-installed)
