You need to make sure your realism settings are as follows:

General: 85%
PFactor: 85%
Torque: 80%
Gyro effect: 100%
Crash tolerance: 100%
Auto Coordination: un-check
Gyro Drift: un-check
Use indicated airspeed
All controls set to 100% sensitive
rudder(anti-torque) 80% null

It should work for you...If not play around with those settings until you get something that works for you ;) ;)

It takes practice. I'm able to fly it well but landing it is another story.  ::)

Main thing I learned about helicopters is not to go crazy on  the collective/throttle. When taking off use just enough collective to reach and maintain your desired rate of ascent. Once you reach cruising altitude use the stick to maintain that altitude and adjust the collective for your desired cruising speed. When climbing in flight use the stick to climb and again adjust your collective for the desired speed. Don't set realism slider all the way. FS helos are a lot touchier than the real thing. Setting realism settings to full results in an uncontrollable helicopter even for a real world helicopter pilot. It's also easiest to fly helicopters from the VC.

It takes hours and hours of practice, so don't beat yourself up if you aren't good on your first few flights... ;)

My suggestion is to practice in a heavier chopper, moving slowly to lighter and smaller ones until you get the hang of it.

suggestion:
start with the CH-47 - http://www.simviation.com/fs2004helicopters13.htm - the first one by tom woods and co.

then move on up to the pavelow here - http://www.fsimcafe.com/Downloads/ShowD ... ductID=777

then try the pavehawk here - http://www.simviation.com/fs2004helicopters7.htm

the default bell is really hard to fly, even for a "pro"

The 206b IS indeed tameable and VERY flyable. And quite realistic. Nearly ALL other copters have copied the 206b air file.

I have a 12 minute video of some hovering, backward, and sideways flying at LAX. If anyone would like it, pm me an e-address.

It's an FSR file, recorded at 1/4 second. 2.1 mgs.

Fun to watch from tower view
