Cant decide....

Can't decide what to do FS-wise just now. Should I keep on with my FS9, adding GE pro (already have GE), flight environment etc, or should I use my FSX more (which I've had some problems with recently), and buy acceleration? Please help, I'm stuck for ideas :(
Specs of system are in the sig if they help.

When in doubt, I always start with the option that is the easiest on the wallet.

I have Flight Environment and it really is one of the best add-ons I have!
And if you have every possible stock thing replaced by add-ons, like many of us have ;D,
you won't notice a graphical difference to FSX.
Maybe some FSX things look better, but it costs more hardware power, so FS9 can display more objects, though they may have a few polys less. But this is a difference - very, very small!  ;)

I can't understand , I have both simulators; I USE BOTH SIMULATORS FS9 & FSXAcceleration in a single 80gb HDD I still have 40Gb of free space ,why to make this so complicated?

I agree, keep both. However, with a rig of yours I would defiantly try to enjoy what FSX has to offer(at least, copaered to what Ihave to work with!).  That's my two cents!

I would stick with FS9. Those system specs probably will not max out settings on Acceleration without encountering problems...take a look at the RECOMMENDED system specs for FSX and FSXA. That will change your mind. Everything in FSX can be offered in FS9 (except maybe the road vehicles.) All-in-all it's up to you and what you want to do.

Jeezz!! I just souds as Avril Lavigne  ;D

Every game its unique FSX in impressive ,although FS9 the cities are much more realistic than FSX
Both are great FS204 still need more years to leave us ,Not like FS2002

I purchased FSX on the day it was released, and very soon found out that it was very inferior to my existing FS 2004 when forced to reduce all the FSX settings to obtain satisfactory Frame Rates and smoothness!

I still have it installed on my hard drive but never use it, as I have no wish to be associated with the FSX Forum when having to discuss the FSX Sim... :(...

...I have this image of a "Pit of Vipers" each time I consider it... :o...!
(I've watched it closely from day one!)

So its FS 2004 for me all the way, until the day arrives when I can run it with suitable Hardware, and M$ have finally got all the FSX problems fixed, so that I have no need to visit the FSX Forum.. :)...!

F....FS 2004....with a smile... 8-)...!

Pable ,Pablo, Pablo, as I read from someelse FSX its a monster wich need to be feed a lot it requires a lot of hardware, but its also a monster in Graphics and for me ,..the flight Dinamics of the defaults (exept the airbus) the moving VC for the G-FX and many ,many other things made FSX a new era of games , quite diferent from fs9,

FSX just eats all your pc resourses by a reason......to be much more realistic... :P

edit :It was from BAW03??FSX is power hungry, feed it

Alex, Alex, Alex...

Been there, done it, got the medal...;)...!

....But you are having to suffer the Slings and Arrows of Outrageous Discontent on a daily basis by visiting the FSX Forum, after abandoning our Friendly FS 2004 Forum...;)...!

If I were to run my FSX program, which is on my hard drive, I would have to join a FSX Forum somewhere else, I'm afraid...;)...!

I couldn't stand the stress... :'(...!

F.... ;)...!

P.S. Fancy Cigar Tubes with Virtual Cockpits are never in my Hangar, anyway...;)...!

That was my choice too. At least it will be until I can afford a better computer. I can run FSX and I might still install it. Heck I'm rebuilding my sim from a hard drive crash and I have 300Gigs to play around with but for now I'll do a lot of my flying in FS9. With FSEnvironment, Active Sky, Ultimate Terrain and some good mesh, landclass and textures the only thing I'll miss is the water reflections and that's not enough to go plop down $2,000 on especially when I don't have near that much. I also get to fly some of my favorite payware airplanes without purchasing upgrades or a whole new airplane. So until the day I can come up with enough money that's not better spent on heat, doctor bills and food, I'll have to be happy with FS9.

Shameless independent plug: If you haven't checked out Active Sky you really should. I went flying last night with a solid cloud deck below and above me and still didn't see a stutter.

No worries, Foz   :)   By the time you get around to enjoying FSX, all the trail blazers will be clearing the FSXI forest in the FSXI forum; fighting and enduring the bloodbath of people blaming everything except their 5 year old hardware for the problems. The FSX forest will have long been tamed and populated by the settlers, happy and content to move in after the dirty work is done  :D ... and the cycle goes on...
