Hey everyone,I've got my new computer up and running and would like to get some nice scenery for FS2004 on it,I have downloaded VOZ etc on my old computer which is a laptop with XP on it,I'm just wondering is there a way I can transfer the scenery files (AKA VOZ) from the laptop onto my new computer without having to download the whole scenery again, because I'm on dial-up and it takes ages to finish,if there is a way I'd appreciate it if someone could explain how.

New Computer in my sig.

Thanks

If you have a USB Pen Drive, just place the VOZ Installer onto it and transfer... ;)

By USB Pen Drive do you mean a removable flash drive?

I think I'll choose from the thousands at PC World here: ::)

Would a 4GB or 2GB be best,meaning is a 2GB enough do you think?

I think the VOZ installer weighs in at about 400MB...I'd go for a large capacity one though..That way you always have the space you need...Get the 8GB ones ;)

Why don't you use an external hard drive? Wouldn't it be easier? Just a bit of a question there. :-/

Unfortunately, FS9 does not run as fast on an external HDD...The USB transfer is too slow... :-/

A fire wire port might be faster than a usb port but I am not sure if external hard drives come with a fire wire port. 8-)

As your simply transferring files, is speed the real issue?..

Provided your old and new computers have a writeable CD or DVD drive, why not save some money and use that. CD-R/700 Mb @ .20 cents/disc.....DVD-R/4Gb @ .50 cents.disk. Plus you'll have a permanent backup.

get the 4gb flash drive... When I upgraded PC's, I bought a 2gb and had to make a dozen trips into the other room transferring crap onto the new PC ::) :P
