Bouncing Aircraft Problem.

Not sure what is causing this as it happens to several aircraft...mostly small but one of my larger ones as well.  Just tried to start a quick flight from CVG to FWA for the second time.  First time using the Posky ERJ-145LR and then tonight the 145XR.  Both times when I switched from internal to external view the aircraft began bouncing up and down but then it would settle...but the second time I switched views after pushback it did the same thing causing the nose gear to collapse >:(

Only a few aircraft do this and some have a better tolerance to it then others...or I go to land at my destination to find the nose gear was to weak to withstand the landing >:(

Really would like to fix this little issue as its now interfering with my flights :-/

I had the same problem last week with the Dreamwings Dash 8-100. It kept bouncing until it crashed. Never had a problem with any other type of airplane, it's only this one that bounces. Couldn't find a solution to the problem, so I deleted the plane. But I think it is somewhere in the aircraft.cfg.

Crash ;)

I think I read somewhere that this is actually graphics related. Your sim is probably working so hard to produce the level of graphics you've set that it skips on the aircraft dynamics and the aircraft jumps up and down. It happens to me aswell occasionally. Perhaps somewone else can explain it better.  :)

It's nothing to do with the graphics card?  :-?

It's a mis-configuration of the contact points and (I believe) the aircraft's centre of gravity.

If your problem isn't isolated, there may be a fix out there for it.  ;)

Not sure what's causing this. Changing views should not affect the flight dynamics of an aircraft in any way.

...mmm...well Trip if this is happening to all your aircraft then I don't see what  the problem is...... This thing is almost always a contact point thing, specific to one aircraft..........if you could name the actual downloaded a/c and where from we could maybe get it sorted, but not if it is all of 'em!

Crash........if your particular Dreamwings model is the one I have then change the first contact points line in the aircraft.cfg to this.....

 point.0= 1.000, 26.100, -0.60, -7.250, 1500.000, 0.00, 0.8000, 25.000, 0.200, 2.500, 1.000, 5.000, 6.000, 0.00, 190.0, 250.0

Copy and paste is the best way then you won't make any typos ;)

Let us know how it goes.........commoner ;)

Thanks Commoner, the bouncing has stopped. Although it now looks like the nosewheel is not on the ground anymore. But that's not a problem to me.

Crash ;)

Its only a few aircraft and with this system I know its not graphics issues.

Main aircraft I need fixed quickly is the ERJ-145s from Posky.  Think the actual models I downloaded from their website.  I just cant figure out why its only when switching views and not all aircraft...so I'm hopping its just the contact points.

Both the Posky 145LR and 145XR are the issue at the moment.  Its been awhile since I've flown any of the aircraft that do this so I cant remember which ones they are.

..mm...well I just downloaded the ERJ-145s from Posky. and can't fault it :-? so in that case I am so sorry i can't give a reason for your problem...it seems to be just fine for me.............soreeeeee..............commoner :'(

Triple,

With your ERJ's, does it occur at all airports or just one or two?

I have a couple of add-on aircraft that bounce around a little when I switch from panel view to spot view for the first time. So far this only happens at Seattle (KSEA). But when I'm set to takeoff from Boeing Field (KBFI), there is no bouncing.

Haven't found a solution yet to my problem. For your problem, my first suggestion would be to turn off the setting that causes your gear to fail.

Regards,
JerryH

Its all airports.  Turning off the crash detection still leaves me with a nose in the ground just not giving the crash and restart.  Will see if I can find one of the other aircraft that does this.  Just doesn't make sense :-/

If it was a graphic or airport issue it would do this to every aircraft.  But I've been in and out of CVG many times in many aircraft and this is the first time this has happened with any of them.  I tried the ERJ at several other airports to find the same problem.  Something to do with the aircraft its self.

Sometimes, if you add livery's incorrectly it will corrupt the entire CFG file. I've done it by hitting "enter" to many times!
Restore the original CFG's, just in case. It's all I could really think to do.

Good luck!  :)

Hi Trip....why not try downloading from another place.........I don't like linking to other sites but I have just downloaded your two Posky a/c from Avsim (couldn't seem to find them on SimV) and they are perfect for me.............give them a try could be a different version..............commoner. ;)

...post the first few lines of your contact point and I'll see if they differ from my versions...... :)

Unless it's pure coincidence I still can't see how this is related to changing views.
