Bouncing tailwheel, Wellington bomber.

Hi Guys and Gals.

I've downloaded the Wellington Bomber from Page 61 of the vintage aircraft page (W440_v01.zip). The tailwheel bounces as soon as you start taxying and when you slow down after landing. It's so bad it makes taking off successfully nearly impossible. I'm guessing it's a contact points issue but before I complete mess something up by "tinkering" with the aircraft.cfg I thought I'd see if any of you had a solution or ideas?

Many thanks in advance.
Zaphod ;D

Grass runway or add-on airport? I noticed that on mine too, but only rolling over what the sim thinks is unpaved.

I've tried it on both and neither are add ons. I'll check out some others but I don't think it's related to the runway.
I may be wrong ;D

Zaphod.

Edit;

I've checked on several different airfields/airports, none of which are add-ons or modified. Same result.
The only thing that helps slightly is lessening the fuel load by 50%, but the improvement is only very slight.

...mmm.....I actually got it from my own "Welly"  which I knew was working just fine and thought it was the same as yours........... Further investigation reveals that it is a later version of the same plane  (W440_v04.zip)

NO IDEA where I got it but not here on SimV..you could look on other sites but as far as I can see there is no difference except that it behaves itself on the ground.....so credit to the original builder for the "fix" and lucky you that I spotted it..........commoner ;D

...doesn't it handle a dream though?  ;)

Commoner is good, isn't he? He taught me about the contact points when I had an AC with flat tires.

It's one of the reasons we keep him around ;D ;D ;D

Seriously it's people like Commoner that make these forums the place they are.
Oh and people like me with lots of stupid questions!

Best.
Zaphod.
