Problem with simulator

Postby jakob » Sun Oct 21, 2007 3:13 am

Hi, What could problem be when running simulator in default mode:
1.Aircraft select box is black, can have water details and so forth.
2.When running in safe mode, aircraft select box is not black,
but I can't get water details, render to txt, can't select screen resolution plus some
others? I don't know what went wrong here. Can someone help? Thanks so much, jakob

Do you have an nVidia graphics card?

It's a quirk of FS that if you have such a card and run the Anti-Aliasing at 8x then the black box won't show up.

You can either lower the setting to 6x or just live with the black box, but have less jaggies  ;)

About the dogey water in safe mode, this is a complete guess as I've never run FS in safemode but maybe FS doesn't render some more complex things in safe mode? Such as water.

I hope that helped  :)

All the best,
Alex  ;)

As Alex states, the black preview window is an issue with running an Nvidia card at 8x AA in FULL SCREEN MODE.

Either reduce your AA setting or switch to 'windowed mode', (Alt+Enter) to toggle between Full Screen and Windowed Mode.

In Safe Mode, Windows run with only it's basic drivers so extended the graphics setting and capabilities of your graphics card are not available.
