Hi all
Just bought the FS2004, didn't install it yet though. I have been a regular user of FS2002 for a long long time...
Can someone please tell me what new features I will experience in FS2004 compared to FS2002?
Also, I read a lot about the improved weather...Do I get turbulence some time during the flight when I download real world weather and get warning as I am approaching an area of turbulence from ATC, or is weather like the one in 2002?
Many thanks

I can't tell you much about any of the new features, but you need to get the FS9 Patch 9.1. Make sure your disks are clean and unscratched before installing (can't install mine cause disk 4 is "damaged") There is turbulance, I don't think ATC will WARN you of any but there should be a setting somewhere that you can turn turbulence ON.

You need to go here
http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb2 ... 1080212396and
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... laylang=enAnd you need to explore the thousands and thousands of files from all over the SIM sites.

Welcome to sim v and FS2004 I have been using fs2004 ever since it first came out. The difference between fs2004 and fs2002 are to many to list here. As for a warning about turbulence or other bad weather no such thing. Atc will not allow you to take off from a airport with bad weather unless you file a IFR flight plan and if you are flying VFR and try to land at a airport under IFR conditions it will not grant you permission. That is the extent of any warning ATC will give you. DO not expect a warning about taking off behind a heavy jet either.

Hi Amaru, and welcome to the mad World that is FS2004.
Before you rush to download the FS9 update patch, check the version of the FS2004 you have. If it's a fairly new purchase it may already be "patched". You're looking for version FS9.1. If it's just FS9 you'll need the patch.

I can asure you, you do get turbulence during real world weather i just experienced first hand landing in Barranquilla Colombia a few moments ago.. so if you want to test it, take a flight in that region... (at 6000 feet it seems to be at its the worst)
