Hey you guys -

any idea how to add the ADF selection on the radios of the default Mooney?? I don't have it there and for that have not a single idea how to fly NDB DME approaches.

Any suggestions?

The ADF radio section and the ADF Gauge is available on the "Virtual Cockpit" of the Default Mooney Bravo Bendix-King radio stack, but not on the drop-down Bendix-King Stack on the 2-D panel....that can be added with a bit of re-arrangement, and re-sizing of the various bits of the radio stack in the Panel.cfg file

F...G-BPLF... 8-)...!

I often add extra bits and bobs to my 2-D Bendix-King Radio Stack..easy-peasy...;)...!

For the ADF in the radio stack pop-up: Open the C172 panel.cfg file in notepad. Copy the entire [Window01]-radio stack section and paste it into the Mooney_bravo panel.cfg file, replacing the Mooney's [Window01] section.

For your approach proceedures: I'm still learning this stuff myself so here are some references I use.

Flight Simulator Navigation-a tutorial style presentation of navigation proceedures in the sim.

Get your approach plates here (US airports).........this explains the approach plate

The Garmin GPS-Click the PROC(eedure) button,

Thanks!

As for the procedure: it's much more interesting and challenging to fly a NDB DME appron, I think. Makes sense to train it with that smaller planes, so that's the reason why I tried to use the Mooney for that.

However, doing it with my 737-700 is great, what I miss is a co-pilot to call out the altitudes. This is really something for a MCC training *gg* ...

...try it with the Default Cessna 172, followed by the Default Beech Baron 58
They have a full compliments of Nav/Com Radios (Bendix-King), and the accompanying Gauges, and are useful for both VOR and NDB Navigation, as well as ILS approaches...;)...!

...(Practicing with the Trainer Aircraft always makes sense)... :)...!

Practice with the trainers indeed  :)

But leave the fsnavigator on the ground. It's a great aid for planning flights quickly (you're better served though, as you're learning, to plan them with a good, old chart, straight-edge and notepad).

If you run fsnavigator in-flight, you'll always know exactly where you are (same with the GPS), that's hardly a test of your navigating skills...

:D

Hello Brett...!

I find FS Navigator excellent for quickly locating an obscure, un-known airstrip "somewhere/anywhere" in the World and not knowing the actual ICAO of the strip.. :)...!

Dragging an area with the mouse, and zooming in before the flight, for a particular airstrip saves a lot of hunting around... ;)...!

...and you have every Navigation Chart for everywhere in the world, at your finger-tips... for the princely sum of 45USD...[smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif]...!

What more could you wish for?... 8-)... ;D....!

F...G-BPLF... 8-)...!
