So what is the trick for the Approach and Landing into Lukla?

I am pretty good at approach and Landings with all Major Jets, cessna and Pipers at all normal major Airfields.

There is no trick...Just get it down and use brakes or you'll crash into the cliff-face... ;)

Also be sure not to come in too low... You know how bugs get smashed onto windshields? You'll be the bug, with the Himalaya's playing the role of the windshield :o

It's always better to come in a bit higher at Lukla.

Also, make sure the plane you have has some sort of reverse thrust ;D

There's no trick, really- it's just a short runway at a very high elevation with lots of high terrain around it.

Short-field landing.

But remember that the high altitude means your groundspeed will be quite a bit higher, for a given airspeed, than at lower altitudes... that will help.

Why do you boys think it is odd? This is fairly sane and rational behaviour compared to what I'm normally like http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb2 ... 1147374445 ;D
