Thanks man "deleted" the old cfg and that got rid of the radeon entry now it shows my 8800 gts.
I also changed TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT to 240 and deleted TextureMaxLoad (I thought I needed it)
Any other advice about these entries:
TERRAIN_DEFAULT_RADIUS=6.5
TERRAIN_EXTENDED_RADIUS=6.5
TERRAIN_EXTENDED_LEVELS=4
SWAP_WAIT_TIMEOUT=35
TERRAIN_MAX_AUTOGEN_TREES_PER_CELL=1100
TERRAIN_MAX_AUTOGEN_BUILDINGS_PER_CELL=550
Thank you
Dan
you are confusing FS9 with FSX
TERRAIN_MAX_AUTOGEN_TREES_PER_CELL=1100
TERRAIN_MAX_AUTOGEN_BUILDINGS_PER_CELL=550
SWAP_WAIT_TIMEOUT=35
those are only for FSX, not FS9
As for:
TextureMaxLoad=x (6-10) in the [DISPLAY] list WHICH is NOT to be confused with:
TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD=1024 in the [GRAPHICS] list. ----> This one in the [GRAPHICS] list should never be anything other that 1024
The TextureMaxLoad=x in the [DISPLAY] list is a hidden extra Aces never published. You can play with that and the TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT if you want to. It worked for me in the past but some people it wont help. If you do mess with that I would try:
[DISPLAY]
TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=160 // If you get stutters, lower this setting to 110
TextureMaxLoad=8 // 8-6 or 10 may work with 110
That depends on the graphics card and speed of the processor if the entry may make things sharper/better on the ground.
If not just leave the TextureMaxLoad= out of the [DISPLAY] list and raise the TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT to between 240 and 400. 400 is MAX and may work better with a 8800
The rest is based on the list I posted in that other thread:
[CONTROLS]
PAN_RATE=700 <--- will always be 700
[TERRAIN]
TERRAIN_ERROR_FACTOR=100.000000
TERRAIN_MIN_DEM_AREA=10.000000
TERRAIN_MAX_DEM_AREA=100.000000
TERRAIN_MAX_VERTEX_LEVEL=21
TERRAIN_TEXTURE_SIZE_EXP=8
TERRAIN_AUTOGEN_DENSITY=5
TERRAIN_USE_GRADIENT_MAP=1
TERRAIN_EXTENDED_TEXTURES=1
TERRAIN_DEFAULT_RADIUS=9.5 // Also try 9.5 or 9.0
TERRAIN_EXTENDED_RADIUS=9.0 // Also try 4.5 (with 9.0 or 9.5 above)
TERRAIN_EXTENDED_LEVELS=4 < --- If you use buffer mesh, make it 4. If not experiment with 1. This setting is either 1 or 4, nothing else
TERRAIN_EXTENDED_LEVELS= is either 1 or 4, nothing else. Its a on/off switch. Usually 4 is used if you have buffer mesh installed. Buffer mesh is addon mesh from FSGenesis or other compaines that covers the world in areas the main mesh doesnt. You msut have low res buffer mesh AND high res mesh installed together to fill in the HOLES or you can get blue 'slivers' of missing mesh if set to 4 without it. Try 1 or 4.
