FS 2004 not working?

I just bought a new PC and installed FS2004. After I setup the flight planner and it loads the plane to the gate FS acts really weird, for example when I cycle through the views hitting S it only stays in the cockpit view and if you hit the throttle F4 the plane just stays without moving. I didn't have this problem with XP. So if anyone can help me fix this or should I call MS about it let me know. Thanks.

Well, I don't have Vista, but are the disks scratched? Also, out of curiosity, what's your GPU?

I have found that Vista does nothing to help fs2004 though.

I installed the patch and my graphics card is 8600 gts ddr3

Silly question: Have you assigned keyboard and joystick controls? 8-)  :D
Do you maybe have keyboard hardware the fs can't use, (if such things exist) ?

I didn't change anything. I uninstalled it last night and will try a reinstall this afternoon, hopefully it works.

I upgraded from XP to Vista and it worked fine all the files were there and exactly the same as on XP.
