Using the default panels with add-ons.

Hi there.
I have a small question regarding the default panels.
Personally I prefer the defaults to most of the add-on panels that are available and for example I use the default 734 panel with my A310 etc.
What I was wondering was, is there a way to have the virtual cockpit views, like I would get flying the 734. It's getting a bit annoying to look to the left or right and see no cockpit, if you see what I mean.

I'm sure there must be a way. I've already tried tinkering around inside the panel folder and moving the bmps from one folder to another, but with no success!

Thanks for reading!

Hi - I am no expert & someone with more info than me will pop in here, but I don't think you can do what you want.  It's all to do with the aircraft cfg, etc.  I like addon panels & choose those with side &/or wing views, etc.   There are some great A310 panels around, you know.

No.  Absolutely no.  Not possible.

There are some panels that have PICTURES of cockpit views, but it's not a 3d side view like you see in the default aircraft.

Hmm, that sucks butt!

Would it be possible to just add side views from an add-on package, but still use the default 734 panel?

I had a A310 panel that looked great, gypsymoth, but it always caused my flight sim to crash with a message saying 'not enough memory' so I had to delete it again.

JFC.

I'm not sure what JJ means by PICTURES of cockpit views as I have quite a lot of panels that give you side views of the window frames to look through at the world outside.   I like flying from VCs, ie, Dave Maltby's 1-11 which has a superb VC to name one add-on, but failing that I look at panel downloads for good panels that include bitmap images of side & other views - Uwe Ingber's EMB 170/175 v2 Embraer panel for example.   I have some great screenshots of sunsets seen through the side views of that.     If you can't use that A310 panel do you need a pc upgrade?

Yeah, VC's definately improve the flight sim experience.

I don't think I need an upgrade, because my system specs are quite good. I only had 1 problem with that A310 panel by Francisco Silva. I liked the panel, but for some reason my fs9 didn't take to it. Do you know of any other A300/310 panels?

Yes.  If you open the panel.cfg at the top there are a bunch of entries called FIXED_VIEW_WINDOW I believe.  Copy that into the default panel.cfg and the corresponding entries below (NOT Window01, Window02 etc) and copy all the textures from the addon panel into the panel folder of the default 737 and then just copy paste the panel folder from the default 737 into the plane you want it for.
