Silly Throttles

Hello,

So sometimes I will line up on the runway and take off nicely. Other times I will line up on the runway, throttles to 95% N1 and only ONE throttle works. It is almost always number 1. WHy does it do this sometimes? I have to re-select the aircraft to cure it.

Cheers

Tom

So many questions...
..so little time... :-/...!

Press "E"..... quickly followed by keys "1" + "2" pressed TOGETHER for a twin...
or "E".... quickly followed by keys "1" + "2" + "3" + "4" pressed TOGETHER for four engines.

G-BPLF... 8-)...!

That doesn't always work. Sometimes only one engine will respond even though you're selecting all of them. Sometimes it will go away if you reload the aircraft, but for me most of the time I have to restart the whole sim before it will go away. Very annoying.

With some add-on aircraft the complex overhead panel adds systems that are sort of "stand alone" from the sim itself.  These are known to sometimes cause this exact problem.  There IS a special gauge (invisible) that you can install in the panel that corrects this.

I used to know a link to get this filename and location...... it was located on the BAe Panel Project forum.  However the forum there recently was completely changed to a new one and all of the old threads are now gone.  However, Matthias Liebrecht, the site owner, was the one that posted the original link to that as a "fix" for issues with his (amazing) panels .... so you might go there and ask.

best,

what always worked for me is press "E" and then all the number keys possible in quick succession:

E then 1 then 2 then 3 then 4 then 5 then 6 then 7 then 8 then 9 in as little time as possible

You also have to remember to turn the Auto-Throttle off when you're approaching the airport because if you forget all about that then that is another thing that will get your throttles to be unresponsive. :)

There is also the dreaded "Saving the previous game with autopilot on" problem that leads to all kinds of woes on the next flight ::) ::) ::) I can't believe we still have problems with that in FSX as I can recall it being a problem in FS2k2 :o
