Somehow I just can't tune radio's. When I use the scroll funtion, or just click with the + and - signs it goed like 108.10 - 109.10 - 110.10 and so on. Sometimes it does exactly thesame, but with the numbers to the right of the dot. I know there must be a really simple answer for this, but I can't find it.

It depends on WHERE you click, if the value increases or decreases, and on which side of the decimal.

If I remember correctly, on the Default 737 panel anyway, there are 4 clickspots, 2 for each side of the decimal, the left one is to increase and the right to decrease, this is the same for both sides of the decimals.

The clickspot is invisible, but play around a bit and you will pick it up quick enough  ;)

I've had this problem before, but it was caused by my Saitek X52 - I have the throttle set so when it is at 10%, the thrust reverse kicks in - which means that if I leave the throttle in the wrong place then my system assumes that the F2 key is being pressed. I seem to remember that this would cause my radio's only to go up or down in whole numbers - as you described. Moving my throttle fractionally solved the problem.

Don't know if this is the cause of your problem, but perhaps your problem is caused by another control 'sticking'.

How have you got your X52 set up TSC?

I've always wanted it to go into thrust reversers, do you just set a band for <10% = f2, and leave the other bands blank?

Great tip, TSC... but back to the OP :

First: don't even try to tune the radios in the VC with the mouse. You'll go crazy trying that in most FS models.
Go to the 2D panel, or use the handy Shift+ (number) command to bring up a 2D radio stack over any View you are using, and note that the tuning knobs on most aviation radios are "stacked"- that is, there's a fat one and a skinny one on top of it. The fat one is for whole numbers, the skinny one is for decimals (usually).
But even the 2D stack can be tricky to manipulate sometimes:  it helps to call up just the stack, then stretch it so it's bigger. Makes it easier.

Maybe you know all that, and what you are dealing with is a specific panel, maybe a freeware model. I've found a few that are quirky in that all you can do is go up and down, you can't change the whole numbers or decimals independently.

Which leads to my next comment: Always specify what aircraft you are talking about- this may help you get the right answer sooner.  ;)

I think I may know what our friend means with his Radio tuning problems..... ...?

My Bendix-King Radio, originally, many years ago, when manual tuning, used to increment in units of 0.10 for the decimal frequency, as in: 114.10...114.20...etc...

..I did "something" in "Options" to change it to increments of 0.05 to make the tuning respond as follows....114.05...114.10...etc...

...(or even even smaller increments, such as...114.01...114.02....etc).

This gave me fine tunings of various radio frequencies necessary for some Stations...

..now, for the life of me, after a peek through the various Options, I can't find the cure, or remember how I achieved it... ...!

...any ideas, Chums...?
