Cool trick for saved flight time and date

Postby WebbPA » Tue Aug 07, 2007 11:02 am

One thing I always hated was that saving a flight saves the time and date with no option to override.

Here is a way to make your saved flights always start at your local time and date.

Back up any files you intend to change and save them to a folder other than the Flight Simulator Files folder.  If you copy a .flt file into the same folder the sim will see it as two separate flights.  I made a subfolder named "Copies" for this.

Open a .flt file in notepad.

Delete all data under the [DateTimeSeason] category, for example:

[DateTimeSeason] <-- Keep this
Day=198<-- Remove these 6 lines
Year=1999
Hours=20
Minutes=38
Seconds=2
Season=Summer

Your flight will now start at your local time and date.  There will be no offset if your flight starts in a different time zone.  If it's 6pm on your computer's clock it will be 6pm in China.
