Slowing down my "Slew Rate"..?

Postby Fozzer » Sat Aug 04, 2007 3:57 pm

Hello Chums...!

Due to a disaster, (as 'appens), I have had to re-install my FS 2004 again, therefore loosing my original modified FS9.cfg file.

I need to slow down the "Y" Slew Option to a walking pace for editing my scenery.....
Which one of these entries needs modifying?.....(I've forgotten!)....>>>>

[SLEW]
MaxLateralRate=40000.000000
MaxVerticalRate=1000.000000
MaxPitchRate=360.000000
MaxBankRate=360.000000
MaxHeadingRate=360.000000

Many thanks...;)...!

Paul....slewing and slurping.... :)...!

If you use a joystick while in slew mode, your speed is proportional to the amount of pressure you apply to the stick. Now I've never seen or felt a need to modify my fs9.cfg's slew speed settings, but I would imagine the one you're looking for is the first one.(MaxLateralRate=40000.000000 ) I may be wrong though, so if someone knows otherwise, PLEASE feel free to correct me.

My slew speed requires to be at a walking pace in "Slew Mode", even with the maximum deflection of my joystick to enable me to accurately place objects within my scenery design programs.

I modified my original FS9.cfg satisfactorily, but with the new install I have lost all my settings, forgotten what they were, and have to start all over again.. :'(...!

Cheers...!

Ey-up Fozzer old pal.......from my massive archive of "stolen" tips which I have "acquired" , I came across this one which seems to fit your bill......totally untried by me but you know how to backup stuff by now so why not give it a whirl....

To accurately place the objects you need to slow down your slew speed. By changing the following lines in the FS9.cfg file you can do this.
[SLEW]
MaxLateralRate=1000
MaxVerticalRate=1000
MaxPitchRate=1000
MaxBankRate=1000
MaxHeadingRate=100

Hope this helps.....commoner ;)

Comm, my old Chum....!

You are the light of my life, as always!... :-*...!

Like you, I had all my favourite FS9 settings and tips in my FS 9 Folder, but having to do a complete re-install involving a delete of my original FS9 Folder, (don't ask), I lost the bleedin' lot!.... :'(...!

Your tip reinstalled part of my memory again, and the result is here:
Involving a couple of "slashes", (like we incontinent Oldies are used to... :'(...), to save the original data...;)...!

[SLEW]
MaxLateralRate=1000 //40000.000000
MaxVerticalRate=1000 //1000.000000
MaxPitchRate=1000 //360.000000
MaxBankRate=1000 //360.000000
MaxHeadingRate=100 //360.000000

Thanks Comm... :)...!

Cured the problem, everything is now slowed (slown?) down to my usual Snail speed now...Joy!...;)...!

Paul... ;)... ;D...!

Comm...

My Doctor, (and my Nurse, her with the white uniform, big boobies,  and the black stockings), recommends a course of "Doxazosin" tablets, taken each day, to alleviate the problem of an enlarged Prostrate Gland resulting in the difficulty of signing our name in the Snow, nowadays....as 'appens... :'(...!

I don't know if the daily "Doxazosin" tabs helps, but the Monthly visits to my Nurse, (her with the white uniform, big boobies, etc., etc) certainly helps....

...trust me... ;)...!

Paul... :-*...!

You guys are a hoot!  ;D Brightening my day, as usual! May I ask what terrible disaster led to the deletion of FS9?  :(

We get a lot of exposure over here (US) of this issue on the tellie. The trouble is there's no mention of a nurse with white uniforms, big boobies, and black stockings. :'(

Answer:...my Nurse; her with the white uniform, big boobies, and black stockings...

P.S....If any of you blokes out there are having problems writing your name in the snow, pop down to see your Doctor without delay, and be prepared for the "Rubber Glove" treatment....
