Is there a screen shot function?

Postby Xyn_Air » Tue Jul 24, 2007 8:36 pm

Just a quick question:

I was looking through all the assignable commands, documentation, and even Simviation threads I could, but I did not see anything that indicated whether or not FS2004 has a built-in screenshot function.

So, is there a command for taking a screenshot in FS2004, or do you have to use extra software (such as an add on or or wholly separate screen capture application)?

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

Follow the advice in the link dave has placed there because FS9 does not have a screenshot key however I believe FSX does have one but I don't know what it is because I don't have FSX.

Thanks for the help!  :)

I did a little more reading, and the [Print Scrn] button/feature is a bit of a pain in the butt as it does not auto-save the picture.  You actually have to CTRL+V copy it into some sort of image capable editor (anything from Word to Photoshop . . .) and save from there.

Well, I was looking to buy FRAPS for my new computer anyway, so after that both video and screenshots will be a snap.  Until then, this will work out well enough.

Thanks again!  You guys are great!  :)

Yes indeed, and other programs like Irfanview also have a built in screen-capture utility.

Yup, another vote for FSScreen. A very simple and small program that autosaves pics and has no effect on performance.
