I know I should know this,the amount of years playing this game, but when on push back,,,how do you turn either left or right to set yourself up on the taxi line, I`ve tried all buttons, searched everywhere but to no avail.

The way I always found is that you have to press 1 or 2 immediately after you start push back, within about 2 seconds of pressing Shift+P. I tap 1 or 2 for about 2 seconds. The aircraft will travel about its own length before turning  ;)

I always found it best, when trying to line up with a taxiway, to stop and start pushback quickyly and then press 1 or 2 around the time the aircrafts tail is near the taxiway I want to turn onto.

1 means you end up facing right.
2 means left  ;)

And do not touch ANY other key or joystick button (like changing views) between pushing the "P" and the "1" or the "2".

This is something I have never figured out even when people say how to do it. Why on earth did Microsoft make it so hard to turn when backing up?  ::)

It is really strange... I have NEVER had an issue with pushback and turning...... but I hear so many people complain that it does not work.

OH......... use the KEYBOARD number keys above the alphanumeric keys... NOT the number pad!!!!!!

I know there is a easy to install push back gauge made by Rob Barendregt. You can put in the distance to travel backwards and if you want to go left or right. There is even ground crew chatter in it. Just searched for it but can't find it anymore for FS9. Only for FSX. Maybe it's still available from AvSim or Flightsim.

I found a very easy method that works every time.
I use a Belkin N52 and have the orange button for pushback (shift+p). I also have the keys assisgned 1-9. I mostly use it for ATC, but hitting the button for pushback and then either 1 or 2 key for the direction I want to go works perfectly. I don't have to try to hit the keys on the keyboard just right to get it to work.

If you have a joystick with software that allows assigning multible keys, it should work as well. I have a x-45, but use it without the software, so I can't set it up for multible keys. Thus the n52 trick. With my stick and throttle on my desk, I can't reach my keyboard very well, so the n52 is perfect. I set it between the stick and throttle where it is easy to reach and along with the x-45's buttons I have enough buttons/keys to control nearly everything in the game that I require.

This little kit is so handy I bought another one and mounted it upside down onto my MOMO Force steering wheel. Now in rFactor I have everything I need right there on my wheel. It is sure nicer than trying to hit the proper keys on my keyboard while trying to maintain a constant lap time. No need to slow down some when trying to change pit strategy, etc.

They are also the perfect kit for FPS'ers. One of the most handy little pieces of hardware I have ever used.
