That sucks, but that's why you back up copies of your favorite addons

The best thing to do here is to grin and bear it. Granted it is not easy. Once you have restored everything the best practice is to back up on a second drive or a removeable drive. It wont do you any good to have back ups on your main drive then loose your main drive. It will put you right where you are now. I had a simalar problem my windows system got all messed up and had to reinstall everything. The only good thing about it was I had a second hard drive and all I had to do was to swap them and once I reinstalled FS I just coppied over everything else. 8-)

I know how upsetting that can be, but for future reference, if a file in fs9 becomes corrupted, simply uninstall then reinstall. that way you won't lose your add-ons. (The fs9 uninstall will only remove the standard fs9 files and folders, leaving add-ons untouched)

I know that feeling...I had spent weeks making my traffic as real as possible...My sim was top notch with at $1000 worth of Payware when my HDD crashed...Everything went down the drain...I think I'll install FS9 soon enough though...or even FSX if my PC permits...

I have all the payware and many of the freware items backed up on an external usb hard drive. CHEAP insurance these days. The drive cost me about $50....plug and play.
What's you TIME worth? Makes that fifty bucks seem like a good investment.
It is the only thing it is used for...... backups.
best,

A $1,000 worth of Payware, and you didn't think to back any of it up?

Oh my God, that's aweful. I don't have any AI airlines, or really very many downloaded aircraft. I havent really installed more then 3 or 4 aircraft....I can only imagine how frustrated I'd be in your position though.
If it was possible to play "Taps" on the forums, I'd play them for you now though.

Well, the thing is, the I didn't have enough room on my internal drive for back-ups...Hence, most of my data from my internal drive was backed-up on the external which coincidentally crashed...The sole reason I got a bigger external HDD was to install games and other things...including FS9 and FSX...Ah well...Such is life...
