Loading Up iFDG From Menu Problem

Postby FlightSimKid » Thu Jul 05, 2007 11:09 am

Hi there,
When i click an iFDG aircraft  from the menu it takes a very long time for the menu, where you see where you are taking off from and the weather, to load up and i have to wait about 3-4 minutes. Is there a way to stop this? if so please tell me. I have quite a few iFDG planes installed but i have tried to re-install them but nothing doing i have even tried re-installing FS9.
Specs:

AMD Phenom 9750 Quad-Core Processor 2.4GHz
4GB RAM
ATI Radeon HD 4350
500GB Hard-drive
Blue-ray.

Not a clue, but I have had this problem before and am curious what causes this and what the solution would be.

I know that the bigger your aircraft collection is (i.e. a lot of aircraft in your aircraft folder) the longer it takes to load the list when you want to change your aircraft. But the long wait when loading the specific iFDG ones is something I have no answer too ...

So if anyone knows what would cause this ... please tell us!

I have the IFDG B737-600-700NG and also have the A330/340 Professional Aircraft [Made by JUST FLIGHT]and when you select any of those aircraft it will take a while to load them. One reason is if you have noticed is the airplanes are in seperate folders outside of the aircraft folder. And another reason is the files themselves IFDG and JUST FLIGHT went to a lot of detail to recreate the aircraft as a result you can expect some time loading them try compareing some of their files to the default aircraft and you will see what I mean. I have noticed any time a object is created with such detail it is going to take a little time to load that object. I mean after all have you ever thought about what it takes to create one of these aircraft in exacting detail as they have done. Trust me it takes hours and hours to just do one panel alone and then through in the visual model and you are probably talking about months if not years to recreate. With the amount of detail that goes into the design of these aircraft what did you expect for it to load instantly.
I doubt if there is anything wrong with any system here but of course the better the graphics card and cpu speed the faster these air craft will load. 8-)
