IS THIS ILLEGAL?

Postby FSFLYER2 » Tue Jun 12, 2007 4:51 am

8-) Hi Guys. IS THIS ILLEGAL?
I have tried to put British Airways texture on the default B737_400 aircraft with the standard others. I had with success placed the texture for American Airline AA. I removed it, and went ahead with BA. Well AA textures wont go away, and they just keep loading when BA's are requested?
Thats me problem!  :-/  Help welcome for this old timer.

Sounds like you may have a mistake or 2 in the 'aircraft.cfg' file. For each paint you need a proper [fltsim.#] section.

Here are a few lines to check

[fltsim.#]

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

Dave, thank you for the directions. I shall go over what I have and check it out. Meanwhile
a) Opening CAB 1 on FS9 disc 1, to retreve the B737_400 files from skratch.

b) American Airline textures although deleted, keep appearing when I select the BA textures. Have used Martin wright's DXTBMP to identify the correct textures files.
The best I could do was to get an aircraft up on BA that was bald!
May be the author of the AA textures placed a bug?

If the AA textures are appearing then the files must still be there and an 'aircraft.cfg', [fltsim.x] section, texture= line is pointing to the texture.* folder that contains them.

If your getting a 'bald' BA there are at least 2 possibilities:

1) the texture=x entry is incorrect, pointing to a non-existant folder---if the folder with the BA textures is named texture.BA

Thank you Dave for the helping hand. I am a lunatic for downloads, but will try and locate the files giving me pain! I went ahead with a)  my last message: but only World Travel came up in its beauty! All others bald.
I have uninstalled FS9 on one drive, to reinstal agin and try for the companionship I want.
Your follow through was checked-out. All parameters agreed in the aircraft.cfg

Dave, I have success on lift off on the reinstalled FS9. The two companions are running well. Next, I shall copy the default  B737_400 as running to my main HD for FS9.

Well the default transfered, and the two companions loaded in all their glory. But, I had three AA planes with unigue tail numbers, out of the seven textures moved, there are six only, under the default B737_400.

I suppose all this should have been much easier! However, for me years ago in CFS2 I had a Super Fortress, every time I put it into flight a notice apeared in German, saying verboten or similiar. So with this occasion I thought, ah a bug.

So putting all of Dave,s directions into notepad, I am going to retrace my steps and try to sole this equation.

Dave I thank you for your time.
