This is without addons. All default. I personally like the weather and the weather themes. I am asking because I think some people are just a bit over enthusiastic about addons and making there sim look better.



FS9 Rules

I gotta go with the planes. They all were very good planes and I made my first landing in a Cessna 208 Caravan Amphibian. But becuase of downloads, I havn't touched the 208 for nearly a year.

Realism and planes as it has come along way and it is getting very realisitc every realease.

I can run it on my hardware at decent framerates.

Frame rates!

Frame rates, smoothy-smoothy, and everything Maxed... 8-)...!

(Even with all my extra scenery add-ons)... ...!

Most of my add-ons don't affect my frame rates, etc...

Paul...FS9 works like a dream, Default or not!... ...!

Just to add more to the frame rate movement:

 As real as it gets! Lower frame rates do not capture turbulence and atmospheric conditions due to frame skipping. Without that flying sims are useless in my opinion. I like the scenery in fsx but I dont have 2 large to spend on a cutting edge cpu.

The weather, surely.

Weather, and good overall graphics. I cut my teeth on FS2000 and the best, absolute BEST thing about that sim was the book. When I first saw 2002 then FS9, the graphics wowed the cash right smack out of my wallet. A good selection of aircraft, too. I have a few downloads, but most I download out of curiosity, try a few times then leave them lying about. I mostly fly the 172 around my local area, and a couple of twin turboprops and a couple of small business jets for longer flights. Often I'm just puttering about the local area marveling at the weather.

I have both. FSX scenery takes my breath away as I get too excited. But! There is a learning curve to go through.
Fs9, one just seems to go on adding the addons and enjoying all the artistic and science from so many talented folks out there. VC panels are becomming more outstanding.
My only complaint there are far too many aircraft textures about. Every other simmer is an artist!

Well I would have to say the weather. I like having the option to fly with real weather. As far as everything else goes the default aircraft and scenery is good but all these great addons are better.

Nothing.... well... the actual engine if that counts, modifications make it good. Default? Default sucks!

I like the actual..."foundation" (or engine, as Arnaage said) that we build off of.

Where's the option Nothing?
