Does anyone know how to find a specific vor or intersection. Only ask, as i am planning a route for vatsim for a flyin(Eurovision at Helsinki) and looking at their charts i need to fly to a Vor called KUDOP to fly the approaches there. I looked on the flight planner on Fs and cant find this point. anyone know how i cant find this?

KUDOP is a waypoint, not a VOR. If it were a VOR, it would have a frequency to put into the Nav radio so you'd be able to fly TO the VOR using the VOR

...
You can enter any Airport, VOR, NDB, Intersection or Waypoint into the GPS... via the "direct to" function. (button that's a letter 'D' with the arrow through it)..

so do i need to do that once i get near enough that it appears on the list on "D" or should i be able to enter it before i take off?

I'm not sure what you're asking. Not sure what a D list is (I rarely use the GPS)

Thanks Brett for that. Is anyone any more familiar with how to input this intersection into my FPL using GPS. I have lots of intersections and VORs before this point, but its critical for flying the approach(regardless of which runway i land on due to the direction of the flight), which i have done before at other airports using bearings and freqs etc but i just cant find this point. Thanks

That's one of the weaknesses in the FS GPS. You cant't enter a series of waypoints into the GPS.
If you have a multi-leg flight plan, just enter and edit it via the flight planning function.. That will automatically load the whole thing, every waypoint, into the GPS.

One way to do this is to have a working FMC. So far the only aircraft I have seen to have this feature is payware aircraft. I have a couple of payware aircraft that has a working FMC which you can use to plan your entire trip with from airport to airport including runways, sids and stars. I have not tried to put the FMC into any other aircraft but you might be able to. 8-)

ahhh, this is driving me up the wall. Everything i try doesnt work to find this waypoint. Anyone else who uses Vatsim, do you reckon they would read me tuning or headings for this waypoint so i can find it as my flightplan passes extremely close, i just cant find the damn thing!!!!!

Or does anyone else have any ideas on how to program it in my route? Thanks for all your help so far, has been invaluable
Just had a brainwave, anyone know of freeware flight planning software that allows me to knock in my route using my flightplan so far and then type this damned waypoint in to find it? I can fly up until this point, and everything after, as i have the charts with headings and alts etc but thats useless if i cant find this point.

Seems to me there are a number of freeware ones out there. Try a Google search for "flight planner" and "free" and "FS2004" (or FSX) and see what you get.

I have found an updated BGL for the GPS route planning.
TO help others in the same predicament, and to make all the hassle worthwhile here is a link to the file and an explaination of how to use it
