I have heard that you can fire rockets in jets/planes that have them, my question is how? I have tried to find out how, but never got an answer. HELP! :-?

Some aircraft have special effects that simulate weapons, but FS 2004 is not a combat sim and was not designed for it.

VERY FEW planes I've seen have built in weapons. FS9 is a FLIGHT simulator, Not a combat simulator. If it has a weapon, Try pressing your brake key while in flight (Machine gun). Some have flares/bombs built it then you drop/launch with a command.
If your wanting a sim for combat, I suggest Locked On: Modern Air Combat, or Falcon 4.0: Allied Force. Both are extremely good, and pretty cheap nowadays.

Chris Trotter made a load of suitable effects in FS2k2 that port fine to FS9. Have a look at;
http://www.simviation.com/fs2002misc11.htm (there is also a rockets effect add-on on this page by Mike Fitzgarald). Remember these are only effects and won't leave damage like in CFS. However I have to say nukin' parliament is fun sometimes 8-)

LOL! There is a Tu-95 bear that can drop bombs for FS9. I did a test flight over Tokyo...just make sure the bombbay is open!

People who are new to FlightSim often ask; "Can you shoot guns, drop bombs, etc.?"
Unfortunately, FlightSim has no way to add these things.
AirFxEz was made to easily add these features and more to FlightSim 2002/2004.
First, AirFxEz exploits the FlightSim effects system to create realistic looking objects.
Then, AirFxEz utilizes the rarely used smoke system ([I] key); to activate the effects.
B25 gives a good string with ground explosions, using the above to config.
keep smiling

I thibk that's not quite true. I have Spitfires that fire guns & drop shell cases by the bucket load. I went into the cfg & copied the relevant bits to a Hurricane & it worked a treat. I assume that as fs9 had the files for the Spits it just read them on the Hurris.....? Mind you, the gun flashes do not line up properly on the Hurricane guns, but what the hell, it looks good from spot view

For those who want it, why don't we start a list of planes that have the ability to "drop bombs" or what-not. just list the plane and what key to press (using default assignments)

The .fx faile for the nuclear device I found in the package of a F111 after a mighty fight with Google. It was some time ago though.
Even if I found it in the CD's on which I save my addons, I could never publish it, because it's not mine. I can only suggest you to input the name of the missing .FX file (taken from the readme, the only thing that was not CENSORED) in google and hope the F111 I remember with that file jumps out.

I tried, but google won't cooperate. :'(
