i was just flying my ATr 72-500 and when held on just Ap without any Nav holding it it seems to drift round but stays level and simply turns. I know this is specific to the plane as i cannot replicate this error on any other plane but i have tried the default NUMPAD + 5 to recentre the trim but it still dirfts.  Any ideas or ways to reset it? Thanks

Are you sure this is a 'major problem'?...or just normal forces that effect all a/c to one extent or another?

Some ideas:

When you first turn on the AP, with no directional hold (nav or hdg), you get 'wing leveler'. This does not apply any directional control to counter the forces trying to turn the a/c. Cross winds, prop effects, improper trims,

Thanks Dave, I appear to have fixed the problem by deleting the fs9.cfg file. It appears to work fine now. Thanks for the response. An admin can now close this thread if they want.
