I am having a problem using Rwy 04R at PHNL. This problem is not aircraft specific.

When I land and the nose gear gets to this specific area in the screenshot (Notice overhead shot) the aircraft bounces a little and the nose gear falls through the runway. (But the mains don't) I tried doing taxi tests on the runway and got the same result.



Has anyone else had this problem using this runway? It happens with all my airline aircraft, including the default.

Any ideas on what I can do to fix this? I was thinking of adding a asphalt base under the runway, but I don't know if this would help.

Is there a fix for this?

I've tried some taxi on the incriminated runway with my trusty 707-700, and then with other planes.

Indeed on the location you speak about there seems to be a unevenness of sort even on my sim, though it only made my planes nose gear dance slightly and not fall through the runway.

I think it might be worth to remedy with AFCAD, though. As under the runways usually the scenery is not flattened, it suffices to add a invisible apron's layer under the runway and everything should go smooth again.

Tried adding apron layer underneath runway. No dice. Still trips. Yet is really small and that gives no real problems beside a little, less than one feet jump (at least on my system). I think I'll leave it alone.

Found the additional PHNL AFCAD I was using to be incredibly shoddy. Whoever did it and then published did one hell of a poor job.. Thanks for having, even if unwittingly, make me aware of it needing corrections.

The funny thing about this is that it ONLY happens with the nose gear and NOT the mains?? If there was a problem with the ground under the runway, wouldn't all the gear fall through?? That's what I don't get. It's ONLY the nose gear that has the problem. But yes, the aircraft does bounce in this area. (Like it's hitting pot holes) See my problem. >:( :-/

Perhaps I will add a apron/asphalt layer underneath and see what it does on my sim.

Well, I added an underlying asphalt layer under the runway. Does not work. Aircraft still sinks in between those two taxiways.

I have only been to PHNL a couple of times and never noticed any problems but I do not rember what runway I used. I will have to check it out and see what happens. 8-)

My initial test show that this [glow=yellow,2,300]only happens when landing[/glow]. High speed taxi/takeoff only make the aircraft "bounce" on that area of runway (Like hitting a pothole)

If I put the nose gear down between those two taxiways when landing, it sinks in. Outside of them, it's ok.

But only the nose gear?? If the ground is uneven, why don't the mains sink as well?

Oh and when the nose sinks in, it completely sinks in including the front fuselage.

If that's it, the only solution is convince the ATC not to assign you those runways, then. Good luck.
