have downloaded subject, and inserted as instructed in 2004 with no success! had to change file name & insert as individual files. will come up under manufacturer, P51D but no textures on blank model, files are in correct places.also tried in 2002 on 2nd PC with same result,  should this show in manufacturer in private props ? being somewhat of a novice !! any advice would be thankfully received, I must add, having only recently become aware of the simviation site , what a fantastic site this for simmers ,, thanks to one and all, absolutely brill. beeman37 U.K.

Hi Beeman. I just downloaded the file to check it out. First of all I don't know why you had problems installing it. This depends so much on the methods & utilities you use for extracting zipfiles.

Now for those missing textures. If you open Aircraft.cfg in Notepad it's very simple. This is the relevant section.

[fltsim.0]
title=P-51K RAAF 3rd Squadron
sim=P51d
model=
panel=
sound=
texture=

The texture folder is named texture.WZI. There are two ways of fixing this. Either edit the Aircraft.cfg entry to point it at the texture.WZI folder like this:

[fltsim.0]
title=P-51K RAAF 3rd Squadron
sim=P51d
model=
panel=
sound=
texture=WZI

OR, the easier method. Rename the texture.WZI folder to texture.

Hope this explains it.

Glad you fixed it. Novice or not, the file is incorrectly configured. You shouldn't have to mess around doing things like this.
