I have just purchased a 2nd hand version of FS9. I have loaded the programme on to my computer and am able to get the introductory page and listen to John and Martha. When I click on create Flight and click fly the programme freezes. Any ideas. Is it anything to do with the CF9 file? All comments welcome as I am at my wits end. Thanking you in anticipation Charlie

If the program freezes when displaying a video, then probably your PC has some issues with Media Player or some of its codecs.
The display of videos are not covered in the FS9.cfg. Try to update the Media Player version and/or the video codecs.

I think maybe I did not make my question clear. It is not the videos that freeze but when I try to FLY on the created flight. As soon as I click FLY it freezes. Charlie

Hi Charlie and welcome to Simviation,
First of all, did you make any changes to FS2004? Like adding aircraft or airports or whatever? Second, what aircraft do you use when you create a flight? Is it one of the default planes or one you downloaded?

I assume you just installed it. Not sure if this covers your problem.

Just to send my appreciation to the people who responded to my question. Although I have not solved the problem, I think it is a faulty copy, it is good to know that there are so many kind hearted spirits on these forums. Thanking you Charlie
